What I've Been Up To:Week #8

Despite Storm Doris hitting us late Thursday night, there were still plenty of signs of spring around the place. I love this time of year, when flowers are shooting up and the blossoms are on the trees. It makes me want to attack our own garden, but all in it's own good time - we've the whole house to concentrate on first.

I was on midterm this week, but as I had the hen party at the weekend I mostly stayed at home for the few days, tidied the house a bit and continued to work on the never ending job that is our sitting room.

I bought a tester pot of Little Greene's Hicks blue and used it for a little up cycling project. {Post to follow shortly!}

I made some new cookies (in order to entice Shane to keep working on the sitting room while I was away!) - they're no triple chocolate cookies, but they're still good. His only critique was to put more chocolate chips in, which I probably would have done if I had had any more at home.

Rumple had to be brought to the vet for his second injection, and was a little out of sorts over the next few days because of it. He was very cuddly and sleepy, although maybe I'm only noticing this because I'm home too!

I went to our local farm foods shop, and stocked up. Our utility room / pantry is going to be one of the most full ones around when we get round to doing it! I always love the displays they've got going on over there, and I just love the large clock over the fireplace.

At the weekend I headed off to a hen party that was taking place in Co. Galway / Co. Mayo. It was an adventure type hen party, with hands on activities for us to do during the day of Saturday, followed by a night out on the Saturday night. It was in such a beautiful part of Ireland that I think it's only right I do it justice, and give it its own post, which I'm hoping to have up during the week.
In the meantime, these few snaps will just have to suffice!

As much as I had a brilliant time, it was great to get back home - especially as when I got back, it turned out that the sitting room was ready to be used again. Shane had worked all weekend finishing up all the little paint jobs, skirting, new door, architrave etc and we could finally relax in it. Obviously, it's not finished - but it's a huge step in the right direction!

Next week is our first wedding anniversary, so I'm sure if we do anything nice for it, I'll be sure to take some pictures along the way!
