Exploring: Killruddery House and Gardens

This week in Ireland, was definitely the hottest week we've had this year so far. We normally spend our weekends renovating or working around the house, but the weather was just so lovely, I couldn't bear to spend it inside.
I found this house on line, and decided to head up to Bray to check it out. They were having a family fun day the following day so I thought it would be better to head up on the Saturday and skip the crowds.

What I've Been Up To: Week #24

My peonies have opened. I repeat, my peonies have opened.
This is not a drill - and they are just fabulous.

What I've Been Up To: Week #23

Short week this week as we were off work until the Wednesday.

Gave me the chance to relax on the Monday and work on some good old, basic recipes that I used to enjoy at the start of my healthy eating journey.

Recipe: Chicken and Bacon Paella

This had become one of those dishes that has become such a staple in our house - mainly as I tend to use it for bringing a lunch to work. The beauty of this dish is that it nearly tastes better the second time it has been heated, and is such a comfort on those colder days in work. With paella, I'm quite aware that they tend to normally include fish, but as I'm not the biggest fan of those little swimmers, this is an alternative take on it.

With paella, as long as you're using a round, deep pan I think you can pretty much put what ever you want into it, as long as you like it!

What I've Been Up To: Week #22

This week was an interesting one. The start of the bank holiday weekend, a flower festival and a day out with friends meant that we were a little bit busier than normal this week.

Exploring: Bloom In The Park

Yesterday, I headed up to the Phoenix Park in Dublin to go to Bloom In The Park 2017. I should start off by saying that this was my first time heading to Bloom, so I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. I'd looked up some pictures from previous years, and came to the conclusion that it's Ireland's answer to the Chelsea Flower Show in England. I was absolutely blessed with the weather on the day, as the sun was splitting the rocks, so armed with my new haircut and with my legs out on show to catch some rays as I walked around I headed off.
