I announced a while back on my Instagram of our upcoming arrival. Myself and Shane are delighted to be able to say that we are expecting a bundle of joy, with its expected date of arrival being 14th February 2018. We are just over the moon with the news, and although I do think you're never fully expecting to get the news, we were more than happy with it as it's something we knew that we wanted after the wedding.
For my birthday, and to celebrate passing the 12 week mark we decided to mark the occasion by having some photos done in one of our favourite places, Emo Court. I contacted a local photographer, Iwona, whose work I had seen and liked and we arranged for a mini session on the day of my birthday.
I went all out, even getting my hair and makeup done, and it feels so lovely that we now have a lovely momento to be able to look back on and be able to see how happy we are at the news (especially as I'm still feeling ok with my changing shape at the moment, I don't know how long that will last the bigger I get.) I had wanted to use these pictures to formally announce it, but as I was started to show a little bit more and was heading back into work after the Summer holidays where people would be able to see, we didn't have too much choice and so I threw together the little picture on instagram up before we had got these back.
We hit the 26 week mark this week, well over halfway there now so I thought it would be nice to share some photos from it.
Interestingly, I haven't popped too much since then as I'm still wearing the same non-maternity clothes that I wore on the day, but I'm still just as happy. Apparently, the pop comes out of nowhere, so I'm sure it'll happen any day now!
You can check out more of Iwona's work on her Instagram and Facebook pages which I'll link below.
She was a pleasure to work with.
I'm hoping that I'll have the confidence to do something like this closer to our due date again, but in the meantime it's so lovely to know that we have these photos so far to document our new adventure.
