Exploring: Babymoon in Bunratty

We're getting closer and closer to our due date and one of the things that people keep telling us is to make sure and really enjoy the time that we have, just the two of us, before baby arrives.

Obviously, we'll still be able to do the things that we like to do, but it just won't be as easy to drop everything and just do what we want when they come.

For this reason, we decided to treat ourselves to a little night away before it all kicks off and we headed back down to where we had our wedding reception, Bunratty Castle Hotel in Bunratty, Co. Clare.

Since we've had our wedding, the hotel has managed to get another star onto it's rating and it's well deserving of it. To be honest, we would have said it was deserving of it at the time of our wedding but it just hadn't been seen and rated yet. I loved the decor and couldn't help myself snapping a few pictures for inspiration.

Of course, we couldn't resist peeking into the room where we had our reception - it looks even better than before.

We didn't do a whole lot on the Saturday after the drive down. I wasn't feeling the best so after we had caught up with some college friends, I ran myself a bath and lay in it for a few hours until, pruned and wrinkly, I called it a night and headed to bed.

The next morning I was feeling an awful lot better so we headed to breakfast early to avail of the buffet there.

From there we decided to go on a little walk around the castle and folk park beside the hotel. It was quiet as it was still so early in the morning and we were glad we had brought our coats with us as it was fairly nippy as we strolled around. It is expensive enough to visit the park but I'm sure it would be worth it if you were planning to spend the whole day there.

{One of our wedding pictures was taken in front of this and I just love it}

{The smell of this plant was just incredible!}

{Can you spot the seat??}

We headed off around lunchtime to meet up with a friend, and have even more pancakes, and then it was back on the road home for us.

It's crazy to think that the last time we were in this hotel we had just got married, and the next time we come back it'll be with a new member of our family.
